AGROMARTIN Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program

Due to the social commitment acquired by Agromartín with its workers, social actions of different nature have been developed in the last campaigns, to integrate the various contingents of workers that arrive in our fields each campaign. With the aim of promoting equality, diversity and full integration of all workers without losing their own identity, develop the talent of each worker, have a team of skilled and well-trained workers and get a pleasant, fun, and profitable for all the workers who have chosen to make Agromartín part of their life.

A wide range of Spanish companies most of them within the agri-food sector have to deal with intercultural workforces as a key resource of their business model. Agromartin decides to develop a comprehensive CRS Program to assure that this key resource is well integrated and within the company activity.

Methodology

CSR Program composed by differents actions:

  • Construction of classrooms for training and delivery of Spanish courses for immigrants, Internet initiation, first aid, prevention of occupational risks, food hygiene, family planning, road safety, pesticide manipulator, counseling and co-development (promotion of self-management to be able to generate wealth in their countries of origin with the earnings obtained from work and thus achieve a more egalitarian world).
  • Putting the necessary means so that they recycle and learn to respect the environment.
  • Creation of a room with computer equipment and free internet with video conference so they can talk and see their families.
  • Make available a satellite TV, so you can watch the channels of all countries, dvd and tdt.
  • Installation of a public telephone, so that they can be communicated without needing to go to a booth.
  • Construction of an intercultural hacienda for the celebration of events and events, equipped with sound and microphones.
  • Birthday celebration to all workers; Happy birthday is sung in all languages.
  • Celebration of the most representative festivals of each culture (feast of the lamb, Orthodox Easter, ...).
  • Participation in local parties and events (4th classified in the prizes of the parade of the Isla Cristina carnival, attendance to the Film and Television Festival of Islantilla, attendance to the intercultural parties of Cartaya and San Bartolomé, ...).
  • During the celebrations the music of a different country alternates every half hour and their typical dances are danced.
  • We provide musical instruments.
  • Provision of a room for prayer.
  • Placing a mailbox of complaints and suggestions, so that anonymously, if you wish, help improve the company.
  • Celebration of Miss sympathy and My smile, chosen by the partners themselves in order to encourage a good work environment.
  • Election at the end of the campaign of the best workers in the category of companionship, quality and commitment.
  • Flamenco classes are taught in free time.
  • Start-up of rooms with games of billiards, table football, table games and library.

The impact is so significant that Agromartin has received several public recognition for their activities in foreign workers integration.

The transferability is complete due to de fact that is privately funded by the company and the returns in work climate, engagement and productivity will be assured.
