SOCIAL SERVICE CENTER

Caritas Hellas Social Service Center opened its doors on the 24th of June 2016. Its main purpose is to provide psychosocial support to refugees and migrants, information on issues of the beneficiaries’ interest and to organize social integration activities. The services are provided in cooperation with governmental and non-governmental bodies and are addressed to all beneficiaries, regardless of their legal status.

Methodology

More specifically, in the context of psychosocial support, a special space operates where classes and activities for all beneficiaries take place. Moreover, cultural and other educational and recreational activities aimed at the refugees’ and migrants’ social integration in our country are organised. 

Type of product

The Social Service Center aims at providing, not only material support, but also multi faced social support as well as valid and timely information to refugees and migrants who have been “entrapped” in our country after the closure of the borders. 

Brief description of the product / outcome / method

The Social Service Center provides beneficiaries with information on their rights, the benefits to which they are entitled (medical, legal, social), as well as about institutions and organizations specialised at addressing their needs and problems.

Impact on target groups / Transferability potential

The most vulnerable among the beneficiaries are provided with additional social support, while teams engaged in recreational activities and integration in the labour market will be created. A special space will be available for children, where specialized staff will enroll them in recreational activities.
