Good Practices in Samos Island
During the last years the islands on the East Part of Greece have become for migrants the “main entrance way to Europe”.
The reactions of the local societies are in many cases “good practice examples” on how the Europeans are looking at the migrant’s integration in the local societies.

Methodology
a) The parents of the primary school in Pithagorio, Samos have collected children cloths and they visited with their children the local hot spot and gave the cloths to the migrants. They also use to visit them once a month remain with the migrants few hours and taste traditional cooking prepared by the locals. At the same both children groups use to playe together.
b) A local Medical Doctor announced that he will receive in his Medical Laboratory migrants, who have health problems, to treat them free of any charge.
c) The “Children Traditional Music and Songs Group of Samos” organized already three times music events for the migrants. During the events local and migrants singed and danced together.

There is no a certain type of product. The citizens of the island are organizing actions according to the needs of the migrants.

The main methodology they follow differs according to the number of the migrants on the island and may include hosting, food, cloaths and toys for the children.
Impact on target groups / Transferability potential
All the above described initiations were a very human way to bring closer the two so different between them ethnic groups and to help for the faster integration of the migrants in the local societies.
